Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

I have several chemicals in my company, what kind of equipment should I have?

In order to simplify your safety protocols and your purchases, we recommend the TRIVOREX® neutralizing absorbent, a versatile solution for all types of chemical spills, even very hazardous.

Or you can do the spill diagnosis!

How do I get accurate information on the hazard of my spilled products?
By consulting the SDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) supplied with the product, a mandatory document if it is a chemical product.
What if the neutralizing absorbent (ACICAPTAL®, BASICAPTAL® or TRIVOREX®) remains pink or blue?

It is possible that the spilled chemical is too concentrated for the neutralization reaction to be initiated. It is then sufficient to wet the absorbent with LeVert (or water if not) to accelerate and complete the neutralization process.

What happens if I use ACICAPTAL® neutralizing absorbent on a base?
The alkaline product will be absorbed and the powder will turn blue to indicate the danger, without any neutralization. There will be no hazardous chemical reaction.
What happens if I use BASICAPTAL® neutralizing absorbent on an acid?
The acidic product will be absorbed and the powder will turn pink to indicate the danger, without any neutralization. There will be no hazardous chemical reaction.
Do PREVOR absorbents release liquids?
None of our absorbents releases the already absorbed liquids, thanks to their capacity of solidification after absorption.
Is the residue of a flammable chemical still flammable after absorption?
After absorbing a spill of a flammable product the risk will be decreased, but the residue will still be flammable.
Is there an expiry date for Prevor absorbents?
No. If the package is still tightly closed, the absorbent retains its absorbing properties and can still be used.
Can a chemical neutralized by ACICAPTAL® or BASICAPTAL® be disposed of as Non-Hazardous Waste?

Only certain corrosive products neutralized by TRIVOREX® can be disposed of as non-hazardous waste (NHW). See list of declassifiable products.

Can the chemical decontaminant LeVert be used on humans?

LeVert chemical decontaminant is used on personal protective equipment (PPE) but must not be used on the skin or mucous membranes. In the event of chemical lesions, suitable solutions exist. We recommend the Diphoterine® solution.

Under what conditions can a chemical neutralized by TRIVOREX® be disposed of as non-hazardous waste (NHW)?

The waste formed by TRIVOREX® that can be disposed of as non-hazardous waste are chemicals which are only corrosive and have been fully neutralized (yellow colour of the mixture). The list of declassifiable products can be consulted on our website.

What waste code do I use to dispose of chemical waste?

Waste declassified by TRIVOREX® versatile neutralizing absorbent is disposed of under the waste code 15 02 03.
Other absorbed chemicals may be disposed of under the waste code 15 02 02.
